How do I book a room during the Pre-sale?

An exclusive Pre-sale will take place for all returning CTTS fam and guests who opt in to get Pre-sale access.

All returning guests will automatically receive priority booking times based on trip history when the lineup and additional event details are released. No action needed on your part for now!

Anyone who has never attended the event has the opportunity to reserve a spot prior to rooms going on sale to the public by opting in to the Pre-sale. Sign into your Cloud 9 account and opt in now to qualify. If you don’t have an account, sign up now & complete your opt-in.

*IF YOU PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED CLOSER TO THE SUN, DO NOT OPT IN or it will duplicate your account causing you to lose your trip history and priority booking time.

What else should I do between now and when rooms go on sale?

Things To Know:

  • Past attendees and opt-in members will receive an email with a unique Password once event details are announced with more info on how to book during the Pre-sale.
  • Only ONE person needs to opt in per room. If you already know who your roommate will be, only ONE of you should opt in.
  • If any rooms remain after the Returning Guest Pre-sale, booking times will be issued by the order in which your opt-in is received.
  • Opting in to the Pre-sale does NOT guarantee you a room at the event. There are more returning guests and opt-ins than rooms available.
  • Pre-sale Passwords are non-transferable and can only be redeemed by the original password holder.

EVENT EXPERIENCE

When and where is all the music happening?

  • Closer to the Sun takes over the Hard Rock Hotel with three unique stages – a beachfront stage for daytime and sunset sets, a main courtyard stage for evening performances, and a late-night stage that keeps the party going.
  • Get ready for four incredible nights of entertainment in 2027 – January 9, 10, 11, and 12. 

When will the lineup & music schedule be released?

  • The lineup, pricing, and more details for ’27 will be announced in the coming weeks!
  • The music schedule will be posted a few weeks before the event.
  • We want to make sure that you’ll be able to see each and every band perform, so there will be no conflicting show times.

In addition to the shows, what else can I expect?

  • If you’re craving four days of relaxation, we’ve got you covered! Grab a pool chair and enjoy your own slice of paradise.
  • If you like to get involved with all the action, fill your days with epic activities to connect with other fans and artists too!
  • Stay tuned for activity announcements to see all the ways you can participate. Past activities have included: drum workshops, poolside games, fan-hosted beer shares, and so much more to round out your trip.
  • Theme nights are a CTTS tradition and the perfect chance to show off your style and creativity! Themes are announced in advance so you have plenty of time to plan, shop, and bring your best ‘fit to the party.

Will any off-site excursions be available?

  • Yes! You’ll have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area with a variety of excursion options. Past excursions have included visits to local cenotes and ruins, fishing, catamaran sailing trips, and adventurous ATV outings.

How can I make my trip more impactful?

  • Our nonprofit partner Positive Legacy is committed to integrating live music and service.
  • Leave a Positive Legacy during your trip to Mexico by taking actions that positively impact the communities we visit.
  • There will be different ways to participate during the event including donation drives, charity auctions, and a day of service. Keep an eye out for more info as we get closer to the event!
